Mercedes-Benz EQ in Greenville, SC

The future of the electric vehicle is here with Mercedes-Benz EQ. With expert engineering and cutting-edge technology, Mercedes-Benz is bringing in a new generation of luxury driving while still maintaining the look and feel of a classic Mercedes-Benz.

All vehicles labeled as EQ have an electric or semi-electric powertrain. Three levels of electric vehicles will be available, including EQ, EQ Power and EQ Power+. The EQ level will be comprised of fully electric vehicles, powered by a Lithium-ion battery. Plug-in hybrids with advanced EQ technology will make up EQ Power, and high-performance hybrids from Mercedes-AMG will comprise EQ Power+.

There are many benefits, beyond having the latest technology, to choosing an electric car. Electric systems have advantages over traditional internal combustion engines: They deliver instant power to the wheels, with no lag time, for greater torque and acceleration. In addition, the new Mercedes-Benz lineup features a distinguished, elegant feel and simple yet sophisticated interior. It's also easy to charge your vehicle in the comfort of your own garage.

Some people do have common questions and concerns, such as where to find charging stations or if special equipment is needed for charging at home. Below are some frequently asked questions:

Where can I find public charging stations?

Thousands of electric car charging stations exist all across the country, and more are popping up every day. You can also head to www.plugshare.com to find all the charging stations in your area and plan for long roadtrips.

Is there special equipment I need to charge my vehicle at home?

All Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids come with a standard charging cable, which can plug directly into any normal wall outlet. We do recommend installing a Level 2 charger that allows your vehicle to charge much faster than a regular outlet, and we're happy to help you install it.

How often do I need to charge my electric vehicle and how long does it take?

Every electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid is different. Most likely, you will never have to go from empty to full to get where you need to go. Many people charge at home and at work or while they're busy doing other things.

Are Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles safe?

Electric vehicles are actually safer, in many ways, than their gas-powered counterparts. They don't carry gasoline, making them inherently safer. Lithium-ion batteries carry risks of their own, but Mercedes-Benz EQ vehicles are designed to mitigate that risk by utilizing parts that keep the battery cool and disable it in the event of an accident.

Can I take an electric vehicle on a road trip?

A common myth is that electric vehicles only go a short distance. The average range of an electric vehicle is about 250 miles, and that number is increasing every year.
